Scheduled events:

• The next regular HCHS Board meeting is scheduled for 5:30pm on first Wednesday of the month at the La Veta Public Library.
• Labor Day Weekend In Pike Country, Pike Expedition, Sept 2, join 4-wheel-drive adventurers in retracing Zebulon Pike's 1806 trek over Medano Pass.   Meet at the Walsenburg or Gardner community centers, call Carolyn Newman (719-738-2840) for details.
• Pike's World-Bicentennial Exhibit at Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum, 215 S. Tejon, Jan 21 through Oct 15 (Tuesday through Saturday.
• Annual Huerfano County Historical Society meeting will be held September 13, at the 1899 Inn in La Veta (314 So. Main) begining at 6:00PM.  All are welcome!
